Fundamentals

The global economy is driven by information. Poor productivity results from an inability to act on information in a timely manner. Both the private sector and government are determined to increase national competitiveness through the use of IT. To do so means breaching the digital divide by putting technology to work. This requires an alignment of leading edge technologies and human skills.

To address these challenges, API has embarked upon a strategy that has 5 supporting pillars:

1. Invest in a world-class ICT infrastructure and make it easily accessible by local enterprises.
2. Create a centre of excellence allowing companies an environment to explore business opportunities free from constraints related to the high cost of IT acquisition.
3. Stem the IT brain drain by attracting, developing and retaining promising local talent.
4. Partner government in the establishment of policies and programs designed to leapfrog the pace of development in neighbouring SEA countries.
5. Form alliances with global blue-chip technology companies to establish Indonesia as a premier regional location for ICT research and development.

Together these pillars form the basis of our vision in which local companies are able to compete with changes in market demands, boosting their bottom line performance, and in turn the economy, increasing efficiency and propelling Indonesia's position as an ICT enabled country.
