Solution Development Life Cycle
Adapting the model developed by our solution partner Sterling Commerce, we have developed the SDLC framework for solution development, encompassing not just software development, but also training, documentation, testing, product rollout, and support.
The phases of the life cycle are:
- Concept & Feasibility - identify and evaluate the opportunity, define the business plan.
- Requirements - gather, evaluate, prioritize, and document solution requirements.
- Program Initiation - define scope, commit resources, and formally recognize the program.
- Program Planning - identify deliverables, activities, dependencies, and risks; and develop initial specifications, estimates, and program schedules.
- Execution - develop, test, and launch the product solution.
- Program Closeout - review and evaluate the program, analyze program metrics, recommend improvements to the process, and document the results.
- Solution Maintenance - manage and support the solution.
